Layout

Digital layout of my cousin, Marla. She is the oldest of the Westfall cousins and I never talk to her anymore but I have so many great memories of her and she was always my mom's favorite niece and one of my favorite cousins.

She was a model when she was a little girl and was featured in some magazines. One day at church when I was in about 3rd grade they had a random bulletin board and there as part of the collage was a picture from a detergent ad Marla was in. It was so fun to see that- she is 10 years older than I am and when I got these geneology pictures recently I was happy to see some of Beautiful Baby Marla.

one more

Just messing around with photoshop, thought I'd try an older photo of my Brother and I. My mom and stepdad use to always attend the new years eve party at the church in Wendell, Idaho and bring us along until my sister was a toddler. I remember nothing about these parties, but I remember that we went and we wore our nicest clothes, I wore this dress from the time it hit my knees until it was so short my bum showed, it was a dress my mom got from Mini-World.

Sy was apparently wearing Napoleon Dynamite's toddler collection.

Tami's challenge

Tami from scrapchat challenged us to do a lyout using only black and shades of brown in the design- the picture could be any color we wanted, but all the elements had to be black and or brown.

I am still in the process of relocating to my scrap room to the main floor, so I created a digital one. The doodles are by Rhonna Ferrer (I butchered the spelling, sorry) at http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/, the paper and the stitching are from http://www.shabbyprincess.com/.

Very simple clean layout of Roe having a pout-fest in the mouth of a giant clam at the Phoenix Zoo this summer. SHe begged me to take a picture because I had taken on of Kate and Jane and she as jealous, and then pouted while I took the pictures because she wasn't first.

Spoiled much?

the cuteness I married

Finally a decent picture of Matt and I. Both of us are smiling normally, both have our eyes open and the top of Matt's head is not cut off.
I had too post it as proof that we really are normal people.
Mostly.

Pinewood Derby

Grey's car looked like a wii remote, Zane's looked like a computer mouse. Both were painfully slow, but both we not totally done by an overzelous parent. I like to have my kids actually DO the projects they participate in. Winning is all fine and dandy, but it's more important to do the project yourself and take pride in your own work.
Neither one of the boys came in dead last and they had really funny and clever cars.
Everyone was there to cheer the boys on and every boy got a trophy when it was over. Grey is loving scouts, Parker and Zane kind of missed out on a lot of scouting but it was too hard to do it all myslef and to be honest, we had really snotty wards before this one. My camera ran our of battery power before I was able to take any decent shots of the boys and their cars, but we all had a really fun evening.
Grey won for the "gamiest" car and Zane won the most creative design. (Zane's being a real award, lol.)

check out the new haircut

I scream

Family Home evening activity- we made homemade ice cream. Not just any home made ice cream but my mom's recipe for custard ice cream with 4 cups of sugar, 2 cups of cream, 8 cups of milk and 6 whole eggs. I gained 20 lbs just making it. It took a coiple of hours, but none of the kids have ever made or eaten homemade ice cream and it was a huge hit. It chilled while we had the lesson and while we were outside playing freeze tag.
Greyson-- the child who hates everything--- had seconds.
And with that- Summer is officially OVER.

another "about me" from Leslie's blog

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? Yep. My 2 grandmother's middle names. Thank the Lord they didn't go with the first names or I would have honestly been named "India Brownie"
2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? Oh gads, have you met me and the insanity I must wade through all of the time? I bawl all of the time over it. Last time, was last night when I had nightmares.
3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? Yuck no. I'm never going to kick it with Heidi Swapp.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT? ham
5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS? I've got kids coming out of my ears.
6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU? Doubtful, I'd never meet me because I'm kind of a hermit-snob. I don't really want to hang out with anyone but my awesome hot husband and my sister.
7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT? Yeah, and I have been sternly lectured that there is truth behind every joke in case I was unaware of the rules of making jokes. (It was also a lesson in irony, kids.)
8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS? Nope. Got them out when I was 4. Me and Grey are tonsil-free.
9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP? Hell to the no.
10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL? Golden Grahams or oatmeal

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM? Heath Bar
14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE? If they can look me in my eyes when we first speak. If they can't I kind of disregard everything they say.
15. RED OR PINK? Black.

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST? Miss Kreme
18. WHAT COLOUR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING? Denim. Always Denim.
20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE? Little Caesar's

24. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE? Matt. LOVE him.
25. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU? Nobody sent it to me, I lifted it from Leslie's blog. I steal things from other blogs to support my blogging habit.

32. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED? Harry Potter. Eh.
33. WHAT COLOR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING? White T shirt that shows of my great rack. Oh, who am I kidding, all shirts show off my great rack. My rack looks great in anything, but I digress....

44. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME? Chicago, but it's kind of home and will be again one day.
45. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT? Yes and if Matt tells you, he will have to kill you.
46. WHERE WERE YOU BORN? Missourri
47. WHAT SUPERPOWER WOULD YOU LIKE? My great rack is enough of a superpower. I could not ask for more power or I would not be able to control it. Too much power is never a good thing.

Home home home

We're back from Arizona, what a long drive. Grey and Roe fought, Jane barfed all over herself and the car and the drive home took 2 more hours than the drive down. I am so tired, but it was a great trip and when I came home, my sister Lindsey had cleaned my whole house while we were away. :)
My husband--is adorable, even if he is an ape.
